General Information
Reading books
The children should take their book bags  home each night to do some reading. They do not always need adult support though some may need this if they are not yet fluent readers. The children should keep a record of the books they read and are responsible for changing books themselves. If you think they are choosing unsuitable books please let us know. There is a book bag box in the classroom.
Homework
Maths homework is given on Wednesday and should be returned by Friday. Literacy homework and sometimes spellings are given on Friday and should be returned on Mondays. The children have red homework bags. There is a homework box in the classroom.
Pencil cases
Children can bring their own pencil cases and keep them in the table boxes. I ask them to use any novelty pencils, rulers etc at home as they prove a distraction in class.
Non uniform
The children have a non uniform day on their birthday. They can also earn non uniform days with gold cards or team points. If they earn a non uniform day we ask them to take it on the following Friday.

If you have any worries or concerns please feel free to come and discuss them, Short discussions can be done in the mornings, but it is quieter and less pressured at the end of school.

Timetables
A copy of the weekly timetable is displayed inside the classroom. Mrs S Wilson works in Yarty class every morning and on Wednesday afternoons. On Friday afternoons the class is taken by Mrs C Wilson and Mr Bettison.
This term's topics:
Science
Materials - grouping and changing and the properties of materials.  An understanding of the changes that take place in cooking is helpful.
History
The Second World War.  We will have a visit from Steve Manning this term, acting the part of a warden in the war.  I am also hoping to get someone to talk about the experience of evacation.
If you have any items of interest for these or other topics or know of anyone who would be willing to come in and talk on any of the above topics please let me know.
